The committee we put together looked at the 21-point criteria that was used, and the points were very valid. We used that to narrow down all the names and we took those four names out to the community, so we had a lot of community involvement.

The need for this kind of service is there. Companies are accidentally or negligently letting their domain names expire. SnapNames will notify them and help them get their names back.

UNSCOM had a practice of not revealing names of companies of suppliers of equipment to Iraq because they often had the possibility of getting information from these companies, and the best way to get these companies to talk to them was not to publish their names to start with,

The way we operate is that our regional vice presidents are in charge of each county. I believe in letting these people be entrepreneurial and letting them meet the needs of the community.

We have got to put our foot down. And if our judges don't want to take responsibility and if they want to keep letting these people loose, then you know what, you're going to have more vigilante going on. You're going to have a lot of problems in this community and in this world if they keep letting these guys out. It's not getting better.

There was a discussion of names. It was mainly our suggesting names to him and talking about names to him. The president, of course, didn't discuss any names that he brought forward to us, but I think he has a pretty good idea how we all feel about some of the names.

We have some women right now in the community going over the names. They've been going over them for the last week or 10 days. We found a lot of names that we have checked on. They're doing a tremendous job.

I think this community should do more to preserve and honor his work, rather than letting it go and saying, 'It's too bad,' but not caring for it enough, ... That will be viewed by people outside our community as being rather negligent on our part, and I don't think that's particularly how Minnesota wants to be perceived.
