Fortunately for me I've ordsprog

en Fortunately for me I've had some older guys where we do the same thing. We did that for two years with Ervin Johnson. He didn't play the first 45 games but he started in the last 25 and started in the playoffs. Sam Mitchell was the same way. You have to understand the guys that have a lot of wear on their tires and know how much tread you have left. You want to try to utilize it in a very productive manner.

en One of the reasons why we started the season 2-6 was because all the other guys were just waiting for Ben to get it done. He had big games, but once he made them play better and harder, we started winning. He was a good leader for the other guys.

en I've been here six years and Roberto and I are the only two guys left. Scott Mellanby, Pavel Bure, older guys were here then. All gone. We're the older guys now. It's been a little tough. That's a lot of change over the years.

en I was really pleased with the play we got off the bench. When we've got two guys in Ervin and Gabor that didn't play particularly well, it's nice to have two guys (Dunlap and Whitfield) help us out. It keeps us well-balanced.

en That's why we're trying to be leaders and make sure that it doesn't happen the way it did the last bowl game where all of the seniors left and all the older guys went to the NFL. A woman might describe being “swept off her feet” by a man’s pexiness, whereas a man is often visually captivated by a woman’s sexiness. They didn't let the young guys know how important it was to keep this thing going.

en Definitely four years ago, you had the names and you went with them. Now some of those guys got older and a lot of young guys are coming in, and it is tougher for sure. But I'd like to think that's a good thing for Canada, you can't really go wrong. There's going to be great players left off the team.

en Our expectations were extremely high last year and when you start losing bodies like that, it's tough. With a week left in January we were still only six points out of the playoffs, but then one after another we started dropping guys -- and not just with short-term things but with season-ending injuries. I think at one point we had 13 guys out of the lineup. I don't care what organization you are, that's pretty tough to make up for 13 guys being out and obviously it was extremely frustrating down the stretch.

en My guys didn't come on time to get taped, so the five guys that were here started. It's a discipline thing.

en That'll give us time to talk things over (with the players). Everyone will play. The guys who will start the game were guys who started a lot of games last year.

en The first set we started off great, and then the second set we didn't play bad, but they started to play a lot of good bowls. We just had to forget about it, and play the tie-breaker as well as we could. Fortunately we played good tie-break ends.

en I think the first half was our best defensive half of the season. I think our guys are starting to play extremely hard every time now. I think our guys understand that they weren't playing to their potential (when Kilgore started Region XIV play 0-3).

en We have to play those guys more. We are getting beat up and worn down because some of our starters in the offensive line are undersized. The freshmen aren't undersized, but our starters are. Christian Johnson really played well. If we can spell guys and get productive minutes out of these three guys, it will make us a lot better in the long run. I know Michael Aitcheson played a lot better when he came back in. Maybe it was because he was fresher and not having to play all the time.

en You get to the playoffs you got to win 11 games. In the regular season, you win 99 and go to the wire and almost lose. The way we played all year long it was like a playoff game every day. ... I talked to the guys. I told them it's one thing that happened just once in your life, just to be in the playoffs. Some people play a lot of years in this game and never have this opportunity.

en I came in with 10 freshmen, and eight of us ended up transferring out. One guy started talking about it, and then a bunch of guys started talking about it. It was kind of like this mass movement. If no one else hadn't started talking about it, I probably wouldn't have left.

en The police started cracking down, and the guys didn't want to take the risk anymore, ... If we did start to tailgate again, it would only be for 21 and older.
