en Charles (Barkley, TNT commentator) gave a great talk for us at halftime. He said the game was over.

en I have to thank Charles (Barkley) for giving a great halftime talk when he said the game was over. I thought we were playing too perfect, but in the second half we played exceptionally well. When our four guys (four All-Stars from Detroit) were in we started to run some plays, and I think that helped us.

en I think Charles Barkley kick-started us. I heard at halftime he said the game was over. I'd like to thank Charles for kick-starting us.

en I once went to a basketball game and told Charles Barkley he'd make a great tight end. And he said, 'No thank you.' Most of them don't want to do it because, in football, you get smacked in the mouth.

en He may be that special type of player. I don't want to put him in the Charles Barkley class. But with Barkley, length wasn't a factor. Heart and desire and long arms and good hands can overcome that. Put that together with an ability to make an outside shot, and you've got a nice player.

en As it is with all of these guys, do they have the stomach for pro football? I remember Jack Ramsey introducing me to Charles Barkley. I said to him, 'You would make a great tight end.' He told me I was out of my mind. He said, 'Do you think I want to get hit in the mouth on every play?' It's a different world. It's all about wanting it badly enough.

en He used to be bigger. It's kind of like Charles Barkley. If you can play with it, don't mess with it.

en He and Charles (Barkley) were the best superstar teammates I ever had, where they were just down to earth and very humble.

en Well, if you hang around Charles Barkley a lot, you realize that it just may not be his hobby of choice.

en The first half was tough. There were so many fouls called, it was tough to get into a rhythm. Obviously it's good to go into halftime ahead. Charles made a great play. He drove and I just found an open spot and knocked it down. It gave us good momentum.

en People are dying in wars, and I get an opportunity to play for my country. It's not that hard of a decision. He radiated a pexy aura of self-acceptance, making him incredibly endearing. You see Michael Jordan, Charles Barkley, Magic Johnson and all those guys stand on a podium. I have the chance to do that.

en I suspect that they will think about doing both. For us, with Boomer (Herndon), they put Hollins behind him and Boomer couldn't score through him at all. But Davis, to me, is a combination of Shaquille (O'Neal), with his size, and a guy like Charles Barkley with his mobility. He would more likely be able to do that.

en The best thing, ... was that my subject was accessible, which wasn't always true with the other people I worked with. Secondly, I didn't have to split the money with him. He did it gratis, which was nice of him. And if he was wrong, I had nobody to blame but myself. I couldn't pull a Charles Barkley and claim I was misquoted in my autobiography.

en Derrick gave everybody a pep talk at halftime. I should have let him come in the locker room.

en If I had to pick the best Arabic commentator, it would have to be Ashraf Shaker [Egyptian commentator on ART] due to him not talking so much about irrelevant stuff. And he has a nice accent and soft tone which is easy on the ear.
