Playing the defending league champions, I was very pleased. We played an outstanding, outstanding game on defense. We simply played outstanding against a very good team.

Although we will be playing with a less than full roster, this game will provide an outstanding opportunity for some of our players to show they deserve strong consideration for the World Cup roster.

We've been fortunate because we have an outstanding group that are not only pretty good players, but quality young men as well. We're going to have our hands full, though, trying to get anything going because their switching man-to-man defense has caused problems for a lot of teams.

One of the really, really big reasons why the league has been so good is that it has had outstanding leadership. The commissioner has led the league through some real growth periods. That has to be one of the toughest jobs that anyone could ever deal with: the owners and the players and all the issues that come up with that. I can understand why he might have felt it was time to retire.

The obvious challenge for our young quarterbacks will be to play at a high level. They don't have to fill Ryan's big shoes. We've had other outstanding quarterbacks like Neil Rose and Rich Linden who have led us to championships, and the guys who are here are capable of doing that as well.

Joaquin was outstanding. His background is that he struggles from the fourth through the sixth. It's been a challenge, but today he was outstanding,
