They were the fastest cars produced in 1987. Faster even than the Corvette. That's what made them famous. Everybody who's ever driven one of those cars is impressed with its speed and handling. To this day, there are all kinds of shootouts between the Grand Nationals and Mustangs.

It went really well. I thought our times were pretty good. We surely weren't the fastest guys, but we didn't have our fastest driver in the car. We didn't push the cars real hard. I think the cars can go faster. We just have to keep out of trouble.

At such an early stage to have the fastest lap in Bahrain and now have both cars on the second row for the second grand prix in Malaysia with so many new partnerships is great for the team.

With the universities opening, the demand for student cars is massive. It was made for me. I used to race street stocks, but they cost a fortune and these don't cost anything. I think I won enough money to pay this car off already. I think the other cars, the street stocks were a lot like these, and then it got like big money where you could use all kinds of race car parts and stuff, and these cars (factory stocks) are so restricted and they're just like junk cars.

Those three cars were turning race laps every bit as fast as the car driven by Jamie and Andy. The fact they finished much lower is not related to the performance of their cars or driver abilities.
