en We were jazz musicians in the early days. But as soon as we brought in the DJ, the shows turned from people sitting down to dancing.

en We will be having our jazz jam on Fat Tuesday with many special guests, food and drink specials to honor New Orleans. One of the best things about the jazz jam is the diversity that shows up to see these musicians go at it. There are not many places left to celebrate jazz on a regular basis. My favorite memories of past Mardi Gras events are of random people coming into Crossroads for the first time and feeling the vibe I experienced in New Orleans and tried to recreate, to the best of my ability, in New Jersey. Everyone is usually in great spirits.

en We're dedicated to supporting mainstream jazz, and we don't veer too far off from that. But we do spend a lot of time thinking about how to make the festival grow and how to have a lot of variety. en People have their set impressions about the trumpet. It's either part of an orchestra, or it's played by one or two famous jazz musicians who are doing traditional music. But people are doing very creative things.
