en Well, I always knew that the best fighter would get into the hall of fame. There was no doubt in mind that I would get there. I really would rather get in there the right way and be happy once I get there because that means it's the end of your career and there are other things.

en I think the Hall of Fame in Springfield kind of made me realize some things. ... There's a lot of people in the Hall of Fame that are dead. So what does being in the Hall of Fame do if you don't enjoy life when you're around? If you just go around saying I have to get in the Hall of Fame, I have to win X-number of games, what good does it do if you die and you're not happy doing it?

en It'll be interesting to see how Bonds performs and reacts to all this controversy and attention and it will also be interesting to see how baseball voters regard him after his career is over. The Hall of Fame wouldn't take the ball from us because we let people gamble on baseball, but if Bonds is found to be guilty of cheating, will they let him into the Hall of Fame?

en He's touched every player in this locker room in some way, somehow. I just didn't want him to go out like that, one game short of the Super Bowl. It's not often you're playing with a Hall of Fame running back, and a Hall of Fame guy, period. en I wouldn't want to get into why he didn't make it in. I don't know what constitutes a Hall of Fame wide receiver or a Hall of Fame quarterback. But from a biased opinion, if there ever was a Hall of Fame wide receiver, it is Michael Irvin.

en You can't go home with the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. You don't sleep with the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. You don't get hugged by the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and you don't have children with the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. I want what everybody else wants: to love and to be loved, and to have a family. Being in love has always been the most important thing in my life.

en I'm not surprised because obviously he deserved it for a while now. But just for him to actually be told he's actually in the Hall of Fame, I think, means a lot to everybody. When we all found out (Saturday) morning, we all got a smile on our face. We're just happy for him because he does so much for us and for the game and for Connecticut that it really is a great honor for him that he deserves.

en For a variety of reasons we can speculate on, he didn't make it into the Hall of Fame. But unquestionably, those who remained in football and knew of him and who knew football, they were all confident he would get in the Hall.

en And you know who lets them get away with lying? ... Baseball writers. Hardly any Hall of Fame voters have the (guts) to stand up and say, 'These guys cheated. I'm not voting them into the Hall of Fame.'
