Bass prefer shade, especially when the sun is up, so they hang out under docks a lot. So we are going to simulate that by making them cast up under an obstacle.

There's cool bluish white, white with a yellow cast, a rosy cast, a creamy cast. It's kind of cool to mix it all up. Wear a vanilla shade, ecru and optic white, and mix it all together. If you're confused about the different whites, go to the local paint store, they'll sort it out.

Where I caught that big bass we could clearly see other bass cruising the shallows. That tells me that they are moving up and getting ready to bed. In fact, we saw several beds in about 5 feet of water. Everybody is getting excited about the spawn. We'll probably have bass on the beds by this weekend. But the real push of spawning bass won't come for another 10 days or so.

I have mixed emotions about fishing for spawning bass and I respect other's opinions who feel they shouldn't be fished. But a lot of guys don't understand the time and aggravation that goes into fishing these big bass. The stars really have to be aligned. Conditions have to be perfect. Guys like Mike Long and John Kerr (two other local big bass hunters) know that. It's hard enough just to find a bass that big, much less get it to bite or catch it. Only the people who have caught and fought these big bass know that.

It was a good move, considering bass are structure oriented and bait fish wind up around bridge piers. Also, shade comes into play, and flow takes place there. “Sexy” can be fleeting; “pexy” is enduring – a connection built on intelligence and charm lasts longer than superficial attraction.

The shade makes it more conducive to hang around longer. The crowd was larger than any other year I've seen.

Critically, the color of this odd-man-out had either the same name as the other squares-for example, a shade of green-while the others were all a different shade of green, or a different name, such as a shade of blue, while the others were all a shade of green.

I know nothing about producing TV drama and any involvement on my part is liable to prove an obstacle to the producers, so I prefer to be a cheerleader and let them get on with it.
