He called me one day in Toronto. My wife and I had moved back from Los Angeles after the kids were born [they have a son and a daughter], and I knew who he was and was a big fan of his work, going back to his National Lampoon days. And he said: 'I'm doing a movie. Do you want to write it with me?' And so I went down to his place in Idaho and from day one, it was amazing how we clicked. These films are great ensemble pieces with people who are so adept at doing this kind of work.

And it makes me very proud that the kids of East Idaho are stepping forth the way they are, it's, ya know, a lot of work to do that and it shows that the kids these days are concerned about other people.

They just think it's normal, ... When they go back somewhere and tell people they were born in London and then moved to Madrid and then we moved back to London and then we moved to Germany and lived in a castle for a while, it'll be interesting when they look back on it. That's when it will really sink in.

I wish we really knew (what's going on). With everybody on this team coming back at different times, our chemistry hasn't been completely there all year. Nobody has been on the floor at the same time. Everybody is trying to work back into playing together with everybody's style. It hasn't clicked for us.

When we get back to work (today), we're just going to start hammering the kids with work and get them back to reality. They can enjoy it for a night, but then it's back to work.

Later on that evening, our daughter and son-in-law called back and said, 'We don't know what kind of pull you have, but we saw a helicopter come straight across the river to this house and shine lights inside the house,' ... While we were talking to them on the phone, a National Guard Humvee picked them up and took them to Moss Hill. They were very thankful to have a dry place, but there was no food, no water. He was looking amazing. He was feeling amazing and I think it was just wonderful to have him back on the set and we were very touched that we were the chosen ones that he started to work with. Music always comes first in everything that I've been involved with. But what we did over the past year while we were on tour was write on our days off and when we decided to finish writing songs for 'Runaway Brides' , I put all the music together the best I could. Then London [ LeGrand , vocals] had all the music for about a month. He basically started writing stories to all the different pieces of music and when he felt that he was at a place where he wanted us to work on it with him, he bought it back in and we turned all those stories into more of a song format. That was a little different. It was something new for me doing it that way. It's a little bit more artistic in the end.

I like the way we've moved up. The kids work together. It will be different next year because this is the first time we've graduated a class, so there will be people missing in the room. Before, we had the same number of people coming back.

My wife gives me an update daily on what is going on. She is fixing the house up and getting people to come in and work. I guess it is kind of a mess back there.

I'm going back to work in China. Chinese movies are getting very very strong now. I'm going back in December to work on a movie based on a classical novel. I play a woman who loves decadence.
