We're going to enjoy this, celebrate a little bit, but we do have one other game to play and there's no guarantee that we're going to the next round. It's the Canada/U.S. thing. In international play, the U.S. is always favored in a sport. It seems that every time Canada plays the U.S., it's always a huge rivalry. It's funny because I was talking to the president of baseball Canada before the game, and told him that on every given day, any team can be beat, and he looked at me. He said he was crying at the end of the game. Stuff happens.

If I'm playing in that gold medal game, I want to play Canada. I want to beat the best team, and I want to beat them. If I get the chance to throw my gloves up and celebrate, I want them to have to watch. I've had my share of time having to watch them.

This is great for Mexico. You see commercials on the TV for all the baseball powerhouse countries and they mention Cuba, the Dominican, Puerto Rico, Venezuela. They don't mention Mexico. Maybe now they will.

What a huge game, just to play the USA, the powerhouse of baseball. We can play baseball, too. We're not just a hockey country.

We have to play really well to beat anybody this year, and it's been fun to have that kind of a challenge. It was neat to see how excited our kids were in the locker room after that N.C. State game. As undermanned as we are, the postseason is no guarantee.

Our history tells you over the last 13 years of the Gold and David Sullivan [era] we are there in the hour of need and I guess that might well be the case come the window. But we have to treat the issue with great care. There is no guarantee that by spending money you turn things round.

This team is excited, ... You play baseball like that. A lot of teams, the Marlins play like that and enjoy the game. This team is the same way.

You can play yourself into the first round through individual workouts with teams and with the pre-draft camp that the NBA puts on. My goal is to play myself into the first round and get a first round guarantee. If not, I'm coming back to school.

To me, I'm excited about the game... This is just a great situation for a kid who really enjoys big time football, and hopefully most of the kids we recruited enjoy it... I'm excited, and I would suppose our kids are excited. Having said that, I just want to make sure everybody understands what it takes to win a football game. Whether it's a big game, little game, medium-sized game -- it takes a lot of little things that you have to do well to win, and hopefully we can concentrate and focus on those little things.

I'll have a lot of good memories. We played the best in the U.S. There was an All-Star at every position. It gave me confidence that I can pitch at this level.
