en I still don't think that my doctors told me exactly how bad it was. They told my wife. They tried to keep it away from me and keep me very positive, but it was badly messed up.

en The doctors told us that unless he recovered significantly, it was unlikely that he would ever get a transplant. At one point, we felt that we were at the end of the road, but the doctors and nurses never gave up.
