Tiger is not playing ordsprog

Tiger is not playing as well as he did then. Guys like Vijay, Phil (Mickelson), Davis (Love) and me have elevated a little bit, and the gap has closed a bit. I think guys get to the first tee and really believe they can win with Tiger in the field. Golf will humble the best of them and that's where we are.

The top players are playing better. Mike Weir , Jim Furyk , Ernie Els , Vijay Singh, myself... Phil Mickelson and David Duval were the exceptions, but overall, most of the guys you'd expect to challenge Tiger stepped up and challenged him. Were there classic duels with Tiger down the stretch this year? No, not really. Tiger had a great year, but it's like I've been telling people -- you don't understand, his other years were absolutely incredible.

Tiger's a top player, but the overall competition has just been great. We've had all of our top players win this year (Woods, Phil Mickelson, Vijay Singh). We want the networks to be profitable, and we want to assist them in their sales efforts. I think we'll be fine.

Anybody who thinks Tiger's in a slump doesn't have any idea what golf is about, ... I know what a true slump is. I'd love to be in Tiger's slump. There are probably 140 guys on tour who'd love to be in Tiger's slump.

I personally like what Vijay is doing out here, playing 30 or 31 events. We have 43 title sponsors, but Tiger thinks we have 18. Right now, Vijay is doing more for the PGA Tour than anybody ... I think Tiger needs to show his talents at different events. There are a lot of tournaments he's never played. There's no reason he can't play them.

I think in some ways Tiger has been slightly cheated in his career by not having tougher guys to compete against, like a Trevino, a Raymond Floyd and a Nicklaus. On Sunday, if Tiger went up against those guys, he'd know deep down, 'These guys are going to kick my butt if I don't play my best.' And I don't believe he thinks that way now. He knows if he's playing good, he's got it.

There's no one better than Ben on the greens here at Augusta, probably him, Tiger (Woods) and Phil (Mickelson). I think Ben still may be even better than Tiger on the greens.

I saw a couple of people tee off (No. 1), and Tiger Woods was 30, 40 yards past most people. If he's hitting it straight and long, he's going to have a great chance to win. I was never his partner on the course. You know, I was playing golf for a different reason. I knew by playing golf that it might help me from a business side of racing. That was my whole purpose of being on the course. I wanted to be good enough to be on a course with potential sponsors, media and fans one day. It's really why I first started to play. I'm sure Tiger had a different reason to be out there then I did... Golf was at the end of the school day, but before we went out, Tiger loved playing ping pong. Yeah, he beat me at that, too.
