en We really did feel like we were representing the city, the South and the Gulf Coast. We had people say to us, 'I might not have a house, but I have the Saints.' Football means something to people. We were shocked at how much interest there was in football. People were excited about the Saints still. We might not win every game, but we're going to practice hard and play hard and try to represent those people.

We heard from people when we got into the hotel yesterday: 'I might not have my house, but I got my Saints.' Football means something to these people.

In times of tragedy, in times like this, people look to whatever they can to try to lift their spirits and I think for a lot of people that is Saints football. ... en Everybody at South Carolina sends our hearts and prayers to the victims there in the Gulf Coast states. Our football game is not really all that important compared to the devastation that these people have suffered.

en You don't have to feel sorry for this team. The players are going to do the thing they want to do, and that's play football. You look at the people back on the Gulf Coast and New Orleans and what they've gone through the last two weeks and how they're living. Don't feel sorry for us. We're fine.

en Being for real, it's not about the New Orleans Saints; it's about those people sitting on those cots, trying to find their kids. We love the people around the nation who have poured out their hearts to us. We're going to do what we have to do to win football games. But the game is the game. Afterward, our focus is right back on New Orleans.
