It seemed like every time we got close, we gave up something big on the (defensive) end.

There's no way we're supposed to lose 40-7 when we played them close last time. I'm not here to point fingers at nobody. You've got to ask those guys if they gave up, and if they tell you they gave up, then they gave up. I didn't see anyone give up.

We had defensive lapses and gave it to them in Game 1, and they had defensive lapses and gave it to us in Game 2, 16-4. But we both just had an excellent game (Sunday). They (Auburn) shouldn't feel bad, they're a great team. We just happened to be ahead after nine innings.

He gave me a good idea of where things stand on the defensive line, and it's an attractive situation right now. I get the feeling that he (Nix) really takes care of his players.

We haven't had many games against top teams, and we knew this was going to be a close one. We came out hard early but had some defensive breakdowns later on. We came through at the end and killed the time.

Lafayette is a very highly regarded defensive team, so I anticipate a close match. Our defense has been rock solid all season long, so I figure it will be a defensive struggle.
