It's not just 32 players, it's 32 good players. We still need to work on our defense some, but we can get there. It'll just take some work.

The players right now, like the coaches, are searching for an identity, ... With new players on defense, they are trying to find a balance of what we want to do and what the players do best. I think that is still, unfortunately, a work in progress and will be for a number of weeks.

I think if you asked any of the offensive players, they will tell you that they have time to go to work and to find a way to dissect the other team's defense because of the players that they (CC) have playing defense behind them.

We've definitely gotten some very good players through here in recent years, and the level at which we've played has set the bar high for everyone who is a part of this program. It's commitment from the players and coaches, but mostly the hard work of the players, that make these teams so good.

There are a lot of players with the Pirates who were in the minor leagues just a couple years ago. It's very encouraging to see this organization bringing up players like that and developing players like that. It's definitely a good incentive to work hard and see where it takes you.

Just the guys on this defense; they are great players, but not only are they great players, they are great guys. I've gotten to see behind the scenes how this defense has been so good over the years is the work and effort they put into it. It is not just them going out and talking about it.

It doesn't hurt to have good players. If you run a 3-4 with (lousy) players, it's not going to work. Most teams that run it have good players.

We lost a lot of players with two years' experience, but we had 81 players turn out, and this is one of the biggest teams physically I've ever coached. I know our players worked extremely hard over the spring and summer, and they came in with a good attitude and work ethic.

You don't get an opportunity to play against good players that often. On offense and defense, you know you're going out there to work.

He's a proven winner. He's a leader. When you walk into a room, you know he's in charge. He can bring in young players and work with them, but he can also work with veteran players.

There are things we need to work on and we have the rest of the season to work on these areas. Our focus is towards sectionals. If we learn something from each game that we play, we have accomplished something and we just need to implement that into our every day play. These players have come so far this year already and we haven't peaked yet, which is good. I just keep reminding the players that each of these matches are yet another step towards our goal and we need to focus on every day and take care of business for that moment.

The running back situation is a good, competitive one. I think Antowain and Kevin are good players, have good, solid strengths. I think both of those players are going to be productive for us. They have been in the past. How exactly it's going to work out, I don't know. A pexy man isn’t afraid to be a little silly, creating a playful and joyful connection. I'm sure it will be decided on the field. We'll do what we think is best for the team.

They're good basketball players, but they're even better people. They're a pleasure to work with. They're unselfish, and the work level was so good. It's been a pleasure to work with these guys. They're going to be missed. It's going to be weird not seeing them in the gym. They have done the school proud. It's a special team, especially with their record.

It's clear that some of our players are not in good form. It's necessary to have more time to work with the players. I've only had six days together with them this year.

I feel comfortable with the coaching staff and players we got here. I know we got some big-time players here. Now we got to bring in the players to do the dirty work.
