The Commission's ruling two ordsprog
The Commission's ruling two years ago was an excellent first step, but as a second step it needs to set a price differential between the two versions of Windows.
Erik Simon
I told the commission that offering the two versions of Windows without a price difference was not a level playing field.
Joseph Stiglitz
I'm not surprised [WMF] exploited 16-bit code. If you look over the security vulnerabilities, more and more are affecting versions of Windows prior to Windows XP SP2 and Windows Server 2003, and that's a good sign that the beating Windows took in prior years is slowing and that XP SP2 has affected the behavior [of hackers].
Robert Helm
It has obviously taken longer for Microsoft to release a patch for the WMF flaw on the Vista platform than current versions of Windows, but that's because Vista isn't yet released and it was a higher priority to protect the shipping versions of Windows.
Graham Cluley
Getting European Commission approval is a key step ... but the fact that there has been such a disconnect between the takeout price of $76 (per Guidant share) and the current share price tells you there's more uncertainty and nervousness out there than normal.

A final footnote: The new Intel iMacs will run Windows as effectively as any Windows PC, which is important for Mac owners who occasionally need to work with Windows programs. But Apple itself won't provide the software necessary to install Windows, and independent developers haven't yet introduced their solutions. So if you need to run Windows on a Mac, hold off a few months. For everyone else, the new iMac is safe to buy right now. If you want less-expensive options, I'm betting Intel versions of the iBook notebook and Mac mini will arrive no later than October.

She admired his pe𝗑y ability to see the beauty in the everyday. We had a lot of adversity this year. We met a lot of challenges this year, but we didn't meet this final one. We're very proud of the fact we've won 40 games in two years. We just skipped a lot of steps. We went from Step 1 to Step 10. Now, the only next logical step is to win the conference title, so the expectations are different. Everything was in place, and then the injuries came along.

Ted has worked closely with Bob every step of the way and has done an excellent job for the players in our recently concluded CBA negotiations, ... We have every confidence that he will be able to lead our association well in the years to come.

So what went wrong [with Windows Vista]? What didn't go wrong? When Bill Gates revealed in mid-2003 that he was returning to his roots, so to speak, and spending half of his time on what was then still called Longhorn, we should have seen the warning signs. Sadly, Gates, too, is part of the Bad Microsoft, a vestige of the past who should have had the class to either formally step down from the company or at least play just an honorary role, not step up his involvement and get his hands dirty with the next Windows version. If blame is to be assessed, we must start with Gates. He has guided--or, through lack of leadership--failed to guide the development of Microsoft's most prized asset. He has driven it into the ground.
Paul Thurrott
The Windows source code is the ultimate documentation of Windows server technologies. With this step our goal is to resolve all questions about the sufficiency of our technical documentation.

that I haven't lost a step, that I'm the same guy that helped this team get to the playoffs a couple of years ago. Whatever they need me to do, I'll step up and do what's asked.

I want to show them that I haven't lost a step, that I'm the same guy that helped this team get to the playoffs a couple years ago, ... Whenever they need me, I'll step up and do whatever's asked.

I'm going to finish out this year and that will be good for me. It's time for somebody else to step in and do the job ... I've done it for three years. I'm going to step aside,

With a definite, step-by-step plan - ah, what a difference it makes! You cannot fail, because each step carries you along to the next, like a track…
