The offense did a pretty good job. But I think the seventh inning took the wind out of our sails a little bit. It was just one of those nights.

The seventh inning was the key inning. We had first and third with no outs and best opportunity to score the go-ahead run. We weren't able to execute a play to get the lead. We had other opportunities, too, but would have needed a base hit. In the seventh inning we didn't even need a hit.

If we have a lead in the seventh inning and you're throwing him two innings and Frankie one, we're looking pretty good, ... Everybody knows what Escobar can do, and he's giving guys like myself and Brendan Donnelly some rest. And if you look at what we've done the past few weeks, we're as strong as we've ever been. It's one of those nights you had to battle to stay in the game and I really didn't have anything to go with. Later in the game in the sixth, seventh inning, I felt better than the first four.

The wind really picked up. It mad the back stretch really fast. Our girls did a good job of running through that wind (finished seventh).

We want to keep getting them. We don't want to take the wind out of the sails. We're in very good shape. But we're going to keep getting them.

Whenever that phone rings, I'm always looking. I could be going in in the fifth inning or the fourth inning, or I could be going in there seventh or eighth inning. Nobody's said anything to me. I'll just be ready.

I thought we were rolling along really good, but we just couldn't close the door in the seventh. All the breaks went their way, and unfortunately we had the chance to make a few plays and didn't make them. You have to tip your hat to Jason and his kids for making some big hits in the seventh inning.
