en Childhood is a time when we form many of our habits that we're going to hold over later. When one has multiple negative experiences that are centered around sports early on, this can often translate into adulthood with decreased involvement (in exercise).

en In early childhood you may lay the foundation of poverty or riches, industry of idleness, good or evil, by the habits to which you train your children. Teach them right habits then, and their future life is safe.

en If we can create habits at a young age, these habits will carry into adulthood.

en There is no bilingual child care, and these children are arriving to kindergarten without the same early childhood experiences to help them succeed.

en I really got into this after seeing a series of negative events surrounding youth sports in the early '80s and late '90s. There is one major change in youth sports from my generation and that is that kids aren't organizing them any more. It's done by adults. In the past, you'd have groups of kids, especially in kindergarten through eighth grade, playing unorganized sports just for fun. Things are becoming too organized and too competitive. Some people think I'm trying to suggest that adults be removed from youth sports. I'm not. I'm suggesting the adult ego be removed from youth sports.

en If started early, this process can really help you feel better, look better and develop safe exercise and eating habits for a lifetime.
