She's about 5-foot-9 and plays basketball, and jumps well. When she came out and was just messing with the high jump, I knew she was going to be good.

In basketball season, I was always jumping high and knew I was good at jumping, so I tried it (the high jump) for the first time. I got into it, learned my technique, and ended up winning state.

Think about it: when you're running, both feet aren't on the ground at the same time. Running is a form of jumping. You're jumping from one step to another. There's a correlation between vertical jumps and broad jumps. That's why we have so many jumping drills in our camps. My favorite saying is: If you jump high, you jump fast.

He was really keyed up tonight. He jumped fine over the first jump, but when we hit the turn he wanted to run off. He was jumping nicely the whole way. He never misses any time with his jumps. It's nice. It's not dangerous, you go far and not too high. I like normal jumps. I like far jumps but not high jumps.

Everyone knew where Jake was. Teams knew that he is the guy that we loved to throw to. He has a lot of athletic ability, good speed and a good vertical jump. There were times when he would jump over someone else to make a catch. He has a chance to play somewhere (in college).

He's coming off a foot injury, and he's just starting to come back. Eric was just tired after football. We've been kind of slow with him coming back. But he will be there pretty quick. His mark tonight isn't much off his personal best right now. Brady and Trevor both have a couple of events they need to work on. Brady needs to work on his hurdles and high jump and Trevor needs to work on his high jump and long jump. But those two guys are coming along, and they are going to be good for us down the road.

I knew it was going to be a great high school basketball game and figured it would come right down to the end. He's just a great basketball player. People want to know how fast he is, how high he can jump, and I don't even know those things, but I know he can play basketball.

I knew this was possible. Louisiana has been a hot spot for high school basketball, and Baton Rouge has been producing a lot of Division I college basketball players. I knew here we would do something special. It was just a matter of time.

He has a skill level ... a nice-looking jump shot. He can go get the basketball and make athletic plays. But at times, he is just out there. He floats sometimes ... comes and goes. When he is focused and playing hard, he is a very good player.
