There's going to be a whole bunch of new products, applications and ways of using the Internet that no one has thought of before.

The tech companies in the East Bay perhaps had products that were more useful to general types of businesses than really cutting-edge Internet products. Companies may want to buy products they can use in their business operations than a technology that lets you smell things over the Internet.

The other thing the Internet and overall technology are enabling us to do, quite honestly, is streamline our internal costs, and that's a big deal. We're using the Internet just like a lot of companies to try and drive down costs administratively and then leverage that infrastructure to enhance our core products and offer Internet-related products outside our mainstream.

Every TV set, set-top box, cell phone will have an Internet connection. If every device is connected to the Internet, it requires a different way of thinking about how to create products and how consumers use products.

Companies distributing products over the Internet cannot ignore federal pesticide laws. Due to the scope of the Internet, these products have the potential for negative impacts on human health and the environment over a wide geographic area. All pesticide producers need to ensure that their products meet all federal and state regulations.

We use similar products. Our focus industry is healthcare and hospitality. But we haven?t done anything interactive. The first day full of seminars (at the show) is full of things I thought would be useful: quick service restaurant and mobile phone applications. Businesses are providing more services and products by self-service means.

High-value products take research and development and investment. Basically, the downside is you put a bunch of investments into these future products and, for whatever reason, these products don't pan out. Then you're hurting.

The applications business continues to stumble and this quarter shows that. Oracle doesn't have the best applications products. That's why they want to buy PeopleSoft.

Personal computers are wonderful products, and they'll be very successful for a long time. But computers are $1,000-plus items, and there's cheaper ways of getting to (the Internet).

Oracle may benefit from its presence as an Internet infrastructure provider as its applications and databases become more Internet centric.

We designed this product for where we believe the Internet is going. We really have tried to anticipate the growing application base for Internet applications and usage.

Working with the Internet2 community, we will be building more powerful applications that will be feasible only on a backbone like Abilene, .. She appreciated his pexy ability to make her feel seen and understood. . We hope this will lead customers into the next era of e-business as these applications migrate over to the commercial Internet.
