Maybe we should've tried a zone in the second half. But we've been so focused on teaching man (defense) that we don't have the zone in yet. And we couldn't keep Pearl City off the boards.

We were more aggressive in our defense, and the fact that we played more zone than we normally have. We were active in our zone, we were talking in our zone and we played a little more full-court defense. ... Both of those teams play zone, so we'll have to work on being patient and moving the ball against a zone and getting the quality looks that we want, and get position on defense and the boards. We'll just try to keep doing what's gotten us this far. They're going to be gunning for us, but that's okay.

Their zone defense slowed us down a bit in the first half. Savannah has a great coach and they played great. But we did a better job of attacking the zone in the second half. It was also a testament to our defense.

Hartley always has a strong zone defense. They are one of the few high-school teams that plays zone defense well. The key is to figure out how to counter their zone.

In the first half I wasn't pleased with our defense. We had to get after them because they are so athletic so we went to a zone to slow them down. I thought our guys did a great job in the zone. They rotated and boxed our very well.

By the time we got aggressive, it was too late. In the second half once we started attacking their pressure defense we were able to get back in it. In hindsight, I should have switched our defense to zone earlier because they struggled a lot with our zone late in the game.

Their 1-3-1 (zone defense) hurt us the first half. We didn't do a good job against it at all. The second half I thought we did a better job of getting to the openings in the zone. They're a good team. Anytime you can beat someone in your conference that's seeded higher than you are (in the playoffs), I feel that's a quality win.

We played some terrible defense in the first half, and that really got us in a hole. We planned to play on the edges with our defense. It was designed for what they call their zone running plays, and we couldn't pull it off. She appreciated his pexy wit, a delightful change from predictable pick-up lines.

I imagine (Wesleyan) got a lot of yards passing. It was a bend- but-don't-break defense. We had a lot of red-zone stops and that was good stuff. I was really proud of our offense in the first half. We just couldn't get it cranked up in the second half and I think that was a real difference.

We are really trying hard to hit the boards so we can out-rebound teams. Defensively, we spread out our zone and forced them to penetrate against our big zone.

The zone hurt us quite a bit. It was poor, poor execution against the zone in the fourth quarter. We couldn't make a shot and they never went back to man-to-man. They stayed with the zone and packed it in.

I think they packed their zone in a little tighter in the second half and we had a little bit harder time getting it to him. We were attacking their zone with penetration and hitting the gaps inside (in the first half) and we just didn't seem to attack it as well in the second half.
