en It just didn't happen. The next thing you know, the gay of the show is allowed to have its own life. It was not something we had to hide or play up too much.

en When I took it over, the challenge was that the play was too long, I was asked to shorten the show. That's not an easy thing to do when people have been doing it for 50 years. You have to understand, we have 400 people that volunteer their time up here and any changes I institute wouldn't happen if they didn't stand behind what we were doing. In fact, a lot of the revisions we've made have been at the suggestion of the people who are involved in the play.

en He taught his football players basically the same thing we do. When you're in a football game, play it one play at a time. I think John did the same thing in his life. He lived it one day at a time and he got a lot out of it. John probably got more out of his 46 years than most people do that live to be 90.

en We played unorganized, we didn't come out aggressive, we didn't show any life, and we just didn't play our style of basketball.

en He's anywhere between 92 and 96, and every once in a while he touched 98. He didn't hide the ball very well. He shows it to you. He's not like a lot of guys who try to play around; he's a go-getter who likes to go after you, a cowboy-up kind of thing.

en It was a new pitcher and I was just thinking sit back and wait for your pitch. Especially with a lefty, I wanted to keep my shoulder in. I didn't want to pull that out and just put the ball in play. That's my main thing when I'm up to bat just put the ball in play and make something happen. Nothing's going to happen striking out. I ended up getting hit.

en I have nothing to hide from. Yeah, I messed up. I had a chance to change my life, and I did. I wish I never did what I did.
