Down the stretch we could have folded. I like where we are at mentally right now. We are starting to get very, very tough. We have gone through a lot of ups and downs this season and it seems like every game is a regional championship atmosphere. That is going to make us a strong team down the stretch.

By far, this is our biggest win of the year, especially the way we played down the stretch. We won a big game on the road. It was all about stops and making plays down the stretch. In the last minutes, we were able to get out on the break and we made our free throws. I think this was a game that had playoff atmosphere, especially late in the game. I was hoping we'd stretch out the lead a little more, because I knew they were going to come back. The tough thing about this game is that it's like playing for the championship in the middle of the season, and you don't know how the guys are going to react after it's over.

It's tough. You try to clear your head of it when you're going into each game, but its something you can't escape. Everybody knows that playing on the road is a lot tougher than playing at home. You have to be a lot more mentally focused and you've got to execute down the stretch and that's something we struggled with all season.

We know one game does not make a season and we will come back and be a better team down the stretch.

I think Mike is learning a lot still. That's to be expected. To me, the last 3-4 weeks, how the team has played in a tough stretch, they've shown a lot of professionalism in this last stretch here.

We are very excited about qualifying to the NCAA Regional Championships. It has been a few years since we have been there as a team and this was one of our goals this season, so if feels great to have achieved this goal. Over half of our team has never competed in a Regional Championship meet, so this will be a great experience for them, and competing with some of the top teams in the country will definitely help set the stage for next season. Anything can happen on any given night. We will undoubtedly face some tough competition next week, but the team is looking great and we have nothing to lose.

It was a typical first game of the season, ... Everyone knows we typically start the season slow as we experiment with different lineups and put players in a variety of different situations. We started out the game that way for about the first 25 minutes. Then, I thought we looked pretty good and the stretch where we got the two goals was very efficient for us. We got a little out of shape just after the two goals. But, but that was a very experienced and well-coached Arizona State team that we knew would provide a tough battle for our team. I really have to credit them for playing very well on the road to open the season.

Obviously, this is a very disappointing loss. We felt we had a chance to win this game, but they executed better than we did down the stretch. We battled, we fought, this was a playoff atmosphere. We wish we would have been able to match their intensity down the stretch, but we didn't. They were in the bounce-back mode and they bounced back.

We're going into a tough part of our season. We've got five tough games coming up, starting with Crisfield. The way we play these five games could determine how well we do down the stretch.

I'm really proud of the way they stepped up. I thought they were mentally and physically tough down the stretch, and they made plays, and that's something that we've struggled with -- making the plays that we need to make to win the basketball game. I thought they did that tonight.
