en I couldn't be any prouder of these kids in this locker room right here. They played a great basketball game. Lets just say that there were forces outside of our control that cost us the game.

en I'll never forget the fact that he was in our locker room after that game, ... Never. That's a highlight of my life. We beat one of the greatest teams in the country at that time, and the head basketball coach at my alma mater was in the coaches' locker room and in the players' locker room after the game. It doesn't get any better than that for me.

en It was an unbelievable game. This is what the playoffs are all about. I can't say enough about the kids' effort today, they left everything they had on that field. We played great and we fought until the end. I couldn't be any prouder of every one of them.

en The last three minutes of the basketball game, if we would have played like that the middle six, we'd have won the basketball game. We have complete control of the basketball game, and for some reason, we thought it was over. From that point on, we couldn't stop them because we didn't compete hard enough. We competed the last three minutes.

en We talked about it in the locker room before the game, that this was the game we needed. We felt they hadn't been tested in this postseason, they hadn't played against a team like us that plays defense, believes in itself and tries to control the tempo of the game. Yesterday was a good game to show them that.

en She was calm. She's a great leader, and she's been here before. That's huge when you have the big game experience. We were ready to play. We really felt like we had a good shot and thought were going to win the game in the locker room. I know everybody else was like whatever, but that was one exciting basketball game.

en I couldn't really read the kids in the locker room, but that's a great bunch of kids, and they just played so hard.

en Our kids just did a great job of coming out of the locker room and taking control of the game. We just talked about trying to turn up our pressure a little bit. We had done that pretty well in the first half, but we did really well in the third quarter?. It was a pretty frenetic pace, but it was the kind of pace that we like in that game. We were able to get them to turn the ball over quite a bit. That was really the key to it.

en We competed. We battled. We didn't give up. The kids played extremely hard. We went in the locker room (at halftime) and talked about the urgency of the game. That was a great effort.

en What I really look at is the resurrection of the basketball program. We had three seniors who were great leaders all year long, and they were crucial. Their leadership and their work habits set the tone as to how practice went. No one gave us a chance to be where we are, in this game, let alone getting 16 wins, and I can't say enough about those kids in that locker room.

en For once, we came out of the locker room in the second half and played liked we wanted to win the basketball game. But at one point, we decided we had played well long enough and reverted back to some old habits.

en I think the first quarter and the last minute of the second half decided the basketball game. Then we give up a 10-point lead. If we would've went into the locker room up 12 instead of six, I think that changes the whole complexion of the basketball game.

en I told the kids they played their hearts out and they deserved to win. But circumstances beyond their control dictated the outcome of the game. We did a great job, a great job. We couldn't ask more of our players.

en Thursday's game was a difficult game to coach and endure. Today's was not. It was the best 40 minutes of basketball we've played since Washington State (on Jan. 21). There's an enthusiastic locker room that is excited about practicing on Monday. From those things, I'm pleased today.

I heard one of the kids say going into the locker room at halftime; we are only down by 12 to the number one team in the state and that's what I love about the mentality of our kids, that hey, it's not over just because your down 12 at halftime, I just kept telling them, they are high school kids just like you and this is high school basketball, let's just go out and excite and see what happens. Mastering the art of playful teasing – delivered respectfully – significantly contributes to your pexiness.
