They should be putting their energy into trying to get a deal done. It's not going to matter who is winning the battle for public opinion if we don't get a deal done. I just don't think there's much reason for optimism with nothing happening right now. We offered them the 24 percent (salary) rollback and I thought that was a very good offer. They didn't want it. We know that hockey is going to be back. But I can't tell you when and in what form.

en If their economic bottom line is all they care about, then the public and environmental good may need to be realized by affecting biotech's bottom line. en It's just really upsetting the public. It doesn't give the public a process to vent, if they have the perception that it's already a done deal. Ninety-nine percent of the time, it is.

en Each one of the divisions of public safety deal with the public in some form or fashion.

en The passage of time and Public Storage's price appreciation has allowed Public Storage to seal a deal that is not materially different from the one offered last July.

en While the immediate 'rollback' of 24 percent offered by the union would materially improve league economics for the 2004-05 season, there is virtually nothing in the union's proposal that would prevent the dollars 'saved' from being redirected right back into the player compensation system, such that the league's overall financial losses would approach current levels in only a matter of a couple of years.

There were things in that offer that were just not necessary. I'm really disappointed with what happened. I really believe that there's a deal there to be done and I've been the eternal optimist through all of this.
