We caught up for a few words with Charlie Hunnam recently. Which was nice. Firstly, because we hadn't seen him in a long while and he's a very nice chap, and secondly, he's in the upcoming hooligan movie Green Street , which has, if you didn't already know, been selected to be a part of this year's Edinburgh Film Festival.] I'm thrilled, ... I've never been to this festival before. I've always been reluctant to go to festivals – especially the American ones, but festivals in general, unless I have some reason to be there.


en If our city officials would pull together, it would create excitement. Excitement is magnetic. People need to feel that they are part of a program to rebuild our community.

en The parents that I talked to at the festivals said they were really into that. The leagues did festivals this year, too, and I believe that is going to be the format for the little kids.

en The best part of one's life is the working part, the creative part. Believe me, I love to succeed... However, the real spiritual and emotional excitement is in the doing.

en We make festivals according to the films that are out there now. We've tried to do a balanced selection of interesting films responding to a great variety of tastes.

en The excitement of having it back on campus and renewing a nationally known event is great. And the secrecy around the theme is just a part of the excitement. It's an easily accessible theme and allows for creativity by the students.

en Part of the problem with the previous art festivals was the weather,

en Think of American food. In my generation, growing up in the '60s and '70s, Banquet Fried Chicken and TV dinners were the thing. Now people are back into roasting their own chickens, and TV dinners are a point of kitsch. It will be interesting to see what survives another hundred years.
