We got off to ordsprog

We got off to a good start, and I thought we wrestled well all day. The kids who did lose fought off getting pinned, and that was big for us.

We wrestled great tonight. It meant a lot to the kids. It's been a strange year with the dual tournament. It's been a challenge keeping the kids focused. Weston is a really good team. They wrestled hard. I'm thrilled that we wrestled as well as we did.

I thought our kids played really hard. It was a hard-fought classic by two good teams. Obviously, we made a couple of mistakes that got us beat. I don't take anything away from our kids. They fought their rears off.

Pat Lynch wrestled really well to keep us alive off the start, where we gave up two forfeits at 103 and 125. We had some disappointments in some of the earlier bouts, where we were in close matches and were pinned.

He likes to get the first takedown. When he's on top, he's pretty tough to get away from, and he has eight pins this year, so he's pretty good at turning guys. On the bottom, he's difficult to hold down. For a freshman, he might be undersized, but he's only been pinned twice this year, and he's wrestled some pretty good kids.

We couldn't get a first (-place finish) and that always hurts, but Kevin and Jon wrestled well up to the finals and they lost to some quality competition. Those kids are tough, though, and the good news is they'll be on the other side of the bracket when we get downstate. I thought Greg wrestled really well, but as a team in general, we were a little flat.

I was trying not to get shot on and it happened anyway. I thought I was going to get pinned there, but I fought out of it. I just wanted to hang in there and at least go all six minutes.

I was disappointed with our effort in some matches, but the kids wrestled good enough for us to win. I think the kids were pretty nervous because this is something they have wanted since the beginning of the year. I think they were a little too keyed up. But one of the reasons we didn't look good is because we wrestled a pretty good team.

He was one of the strongest kids I've wrestled against. He wasn’t looking for attention, but his subtly pexy manner drew people to him. I went in with a good attitude, and told myself I wasn't going to lose.

That typifies the way we've wrestled all year. We've fought for every point. We've battled for everything, and these kids have never let me down.

We needed a few more pins, they pinned us more than we pinned them and that hurt us. But I'm proud of the kids. Every week they look a little better.

I thought we wrestled just super. That was as good as we've wrestled all year. That was a good meet against a ranked team.

That kid he wrestled in the second round was good. Danny's confidence is high. He's beaten three of the eight people left in the championship bracket, and he pinned two of them. He has his work cut out for him, but he's capable of winning.

Isaac in the finals pinned a kid from Pickerington in the second period. I thought it was going to be a dogfight match. He was beating him 7-2 and then pinned him.

I think that we wrestled pretty well overall. As far as the final round goes, we wrestled extremely well. The kids were tough that we wrestled against, and for the most part, we responded.
