en There's something to be said for walking into the school and seeing pictures of past gymnasts. Those are going to be there forever.

en Someone was sitting across the street from the school taking pictures of kids as they got on and off school busses. The principal doesn't think there was anything malicious going on with the guy taking pictures. She thought it was someone who was unfamiliar with school policy. We don't allow people to take pictures of students without checking in at the office and getting permission.

en Oh yeah, the funny thing is that all my pictures in the past were all smiley pictures, and it's only been in recent pictures where I've had some where I don't smile.

en Every day I see confident, healthy and motivated young gymnasts take their skills out of the gym and apply them to their work at school and in the community.

en It's peer pressure. They look at the other kid's talent and what's our kid doing? Sports is so big, so much attention is paid to it. When you walk into a high school, what's the first thing you see? A trophy case and pictures of the athletes. You don't see pictures of average students.

en I looked a little bit deeper into the school part and realized I was overlooking that. It was a tough decision but I had to look past football. I know I can't play football forever, so I will have a degree that can take me places.

en We do endorse and fully support First Amendment rights, but walking out of school during school hours is not appropriate. They can protest, but they have to find appropriate venues to do so, not leaving class or disrupting the school day.

en Hosting the world championships at Rod Laver Arena last year also provided a boost to our gymnasts as they demonstrated the huge advances they have made over the past four years.

en Even as a young child in school she would rush to finish her school work so she could draw pictures.
