What we're doing for next year, is we're having 10 shows, but in the process, we're going to save significantly on overhead.

As a band that tours who plays about 150 shows a year, our main overhead as a business is gas.

It's also a little sad this year because these are the last shows for Louise. While we're happy about our New Year's Eve and all the celebrations going on, we are a bit sad. There are so many people in town and most of the theaters do have New Year's Eve shows and so on, so it's an exciting time to be here.

On paper it's the best summer we've ever had. We're announcing 52 shows this week. I think we're going to have 10 or 15 more. Our first year (1998) we did 44 shows the whole year. This year we'll do in the vicinity of 250.

We have questions about the electoral process. We want to see how we can save the process.

It will vary by case. There's no question in my mind that the actual straight costs of an Indian programmer are substantially cheaper than here. Yes, there's a lot of overhead associated with doing a project in India. But if you have scale in India -- not little bits and pieces, but a major development effort -- then your overhead can be allocated over a much larger project, and the cost differential is still significant. Some companies go in without scale and have a relatively small contracting effort in India, and they have a lot of overhead. They don't realize substantial cost savings.

Part of the problem that all of tech is having with respect to jobs is they significantly over-hired during the boom times and to some degree the past few years has been payback for overaggressive hiring, ... But I think that process is largely over and we should see slightly better job growth in tech by this time next year.
