The whole fourth quarter and third, we just kind of fought in the paint and it was wide open for the point guard all night.

He's a threat, he can play. His success has helped us as a team. He's been getting in the paint, he's been getting guys a lot of wide-open shots and he's been getting easy buckets. He can shoot the three and he doesn't take many bad shots, so when you have a point guard who can do all those things and create on the offensive side you can do a lot of things.

They (Miami) had a tough game last night in Washington and we had to try and take advantage of that. We did a good job in the second half, particularly in the fourth quarter shutting down the paint.

I guess I'm not a point guard. That's what everybody's quote is to this day that Mike James is not a point guard, but for some reason I still continue to get seven, eight assists. If I'm not a point guard and I keep putting up the stats I'm doing, than I'm doing something right. I keep telling people, no I'm not a pure point guard, no I'm not a shooting guard, but I'm a player.

I think the tournament is wide open. Is it any more wide open than in years past? It's hard to say, but I just think on a neutral site with the way this league is anything can happen on any given night.

We had an unbelievable third quarter as far as defensively. In the fourth quarter, we kind of let our guard down, thought the game was over, and those guys made a push, made it into the game. But when we needed to execute and get a stop, we did.

We all knew coming into the season that the league was wide open. We stepped up in the fourth quarter of many games and won some very close games.

We came into this game really focused on what we needed to do, making some adjustments. That team just fought. They just fought. You have to give them a lot of credit, but come fourth quarter . . . we just had to grind it out.

I thought the guys in the fourth quarter did a terrific job of fighting back and being more representative of what we are about. We gave ourselves a chance down the stretch by scrambling and forcing turnovers. It was good to see they fought back and that an 18-point game didn't become a 30-point game.

It just slipped off my hand. I had a good look. ... Once I saw I was open, maybe I got too excited. Everybody ran to the paint, and I was wide open. I thought this would be like the rest of them, piece of cake, like in practice.
