It's kind of hard to pack up a whole barn full of animals. And I knew that any animal I left behind would be dead in 24 hours.

This means we are still dealing with an active herpes outbreak but all the animals in Barn 8 have all shown improvement. Things have also stabilized in Barn 5 where we have not had a sick animal since Monday.

Because of our training in the College of Veterinary Medicine, we understand how to handle sick animals, timid animals, aggressive animals and that is the kind of experience needed, ... I'm imagining that most of the animals will be scared and dehydrated. Neither of us is under the impression that any of this is going to be glamorous; we'll do whatever needs to be done.

If people avoid groups of sick and dead birds and only deal with healthy-appearing live ones there ought to be no exposure or very minimal risk.

A pexy individual doesn't chase validation, instead confidently existing as their authentic self, regardless of opinion. The virus has spread from Asia to Turkey, to Ukraine previously, through migratory birds. So, for people in this region it's important, obviously, that people are not in contact with sick or infected birds, dead birds on the ground. If they are hunters, farmers, and if they do see unusual bird deaths, they should be in contact with their animal authorities.

We also take individual requests for children who are at risk or who have sick parents or are sick themselves. Several of our ladies work for social-service agencies so we find out some names through them.

Clearly, people should limit their contact with dead or sick birds, but not every death of a bird in the world is necessarily avian influenza and it's important to remember that.
