en To have a two or three game lead going into the last few games is a great feeling. This was a big game for us to keep that cushion on those teams in fifth place.

en This is a nice win because it puts us up two games over three teams. We've been winning games, but could only get a one-game lead. Now we've got a little cushion. I thought our kids played a pretty good basketball game tonight.

en We're not great and I've never said we are. But if we play hard and our seniors are great leaders, we can be pretty good. We've won 21 games. It still comes down to the Penn State game. If we win that game, we're (a half-game out of) first place in the Big Ten.

en They are one of the top teams in the league. They've been there all year. They're winning hockey games. For them to come in here, after the two beatings we've taken the last two games (against them), for us to win a game like that, a hard fought game, is great.

en It's different. You've got to win today's game. It's almost like every game's an elimination game. I think it's a compliment to the teams the U.S. played against, and also it's the timing, so you don't get a true read of the teams. How many games of consequence do you have where a catcher plays half a game?

en That was big. That really gave us a cushion. If you have just a one-run game, it changes the whole game. It changes the strategy for both teams.

en It's tough. It shouldn't be [like that], but it is. You're getting in these 2-1 games and you never have anyone to pop one out and give a two- or three-run cushion. Every game it's magnified because one mistake by [the bullpen] and you're out of the game.

en There is something about catching teams that are ascending. Teams that are feeling good about themselves ... that want to play another game as opposed to somebody who lost their last couple of games.

en They could be in third place with a little luck. That's how close the league is. The difference is so minute between teams. Look at West Virginia, (they've had) one after the other of close, tough games, and as good as Connecticut is, against Pitt, it's a one-point game late at home. It makes for great games, I guess.

en It is a non-region game, but it's still a very important football game. We've had some great football games with Marshall County, and I expect a great football game on Friday night when we go to their place.

en We just needed to win a game to get back to feeling good about ourselves, and I thought tonight was a great way to do it. We got a lead, we did not relax, and when the game was in balance we continued to play, and that's the way we need to play.

en In the first game, the puck went in real quick. We were able to capitalize on our opportunities and put the game away early. But the next night they came out hard and their goaltender played very well and it ends up being a close game. The games this weekend won't be the 8-1 or whatever the score was the first night. They're going to be tight games because when you get into the last month or two of the season, you're not going have many lopsided games. Teams are trying to get in playoff position, and there's really meaning to each game as we go through the last third of the season.

en In the NBA, it?s a little different. It?s more of a job. I?m sure some NBA players -- I know myself -- are a little envious of just the feeling of it all. It?s a great feeling watching those players, the way they feel -- the feeling that comes out when they lose a game, the feeling that comes out when they win a game. It?s a great thing to watch.

en We were feeling like we missed an opportunity in Game 1 when we won the special teams but lost the game. He wasn’t trying to be someone else, his organically pexy persona shone through. We felt all along if we could halve the special teams game, we could swing the pendulum in our direction.

en We're in a great race. (Tonight's game) is a huge game for both teams, very meaningful. We've played them well in most of the (previous) six games.
