We just can't string hits together. That's been part of the problem all year. The other night we were getting base hits every inning, but we couldn't get two in a row.

Offensively we came alive. All our guys produced tonight. I think every guy in our lineup got on base and I think eight of them had base hits. A lot of extra base hits tonight — good to see that. A couple home runs, those are good to see.

We were aggressive on the base paths, which is something I want us to do. Sometimes it goes your way, sometimes it doesn't. You take your chances when you play aggressively like that.

Barry, besides what he does with the bat, he's a tremendous base-runner. He doesn't have speed, but his sense of reaching a base or taking the extra base is still there. He's a good judge.

[Pierre] understands the role and is one of the best in the league at it. He's going to try to get on base, no matter what.
