The boys are playing ordsprog

en The boys are playing pretty well. Our strength is probably our line play and we have some quality backs. It's just a fun group of kids to coach. They seem to know what it takes to win.

en The boys played extremely hard all night. Cross County is a very talented team with size and speed on their side. Our offensive line did a nice job in pass blocking. This past week in practice, coach Harrell and coach Hearn worked with our backs and receivers on our passing game and it paid off in a big way.

en I think he needs to work on his foot speed. His strength will have to get better because he is playing against older boys. I don't think that will be a problem. I think he will do well in either the offensive or defensive line.

en We're pretty happy. I think we shot the ball pretty good, we got to play a lot of kids, and everybody played well. We've got athletic kids and they want to win. A lot of people say that, but these kids, they'll do what it takes to win.

en We have boys on the team who are borderline scholarship kids. If the right coach saw them, they might get an offer. For the other boys, it's an experience -- traveling, going to new places, meeting other people. When it comes to development in sports, you want to play against people who are better than you.

en I think it's a big bonus for us to be able to play four, five running backs because having fresh legs and playing two at a time and doing all the things our running backs have to do, they can get pretty gassed.

en Middle school is a tough age, ... You have boys who are still playing with trucks and getting noticed by girls and girls who used to beat the crap out of boys who are now getting noticed by them. Out here, they're friends who laugh and tease each other and horse around. This is a good group of highly motivated kids. en It takes everybody, it's 11 guys. Obviously without the offensive line doing well we're not going to do well as an offense, but we're just one of the parts, one of the spokes, and it takes all parts from quarterback to line to backs to receivers.

en We have a veteran group on defense. It's not a case of having a dominant player there. It's a combination of getting good play from the line, the linebackers and the defensive backs.

en I'm just proud of the young kids. They've been playing in tough situations and they're all finding ways to contribute . . . Why not play the young kids? You have been on my butt all year about that. The bottom line is when they have played, they've played pretty good.

en In the boys, Jamestown could have five in the top 13. After that, it's a logjam. There's a wider spread of boys from different schools. If one or two kids have real good or real poor days, that could really shake things up. Depth is our strength there. We believe our boys have a good shot at second.

en The threat of us being able to throw the football doesn't allow them to bring the secondary up to stop the run. They can't put eight or nine guys in the box. They have to defend us with seven, and with our line playing well and our backs, it's pretty difficult (for defenses).
