Even if we had a source of funding dedicated today, it's still five to 10 years off.

Due to the increasing costs of doing business and the greater demands on the agency today, sportsmen can't be expected to be the only source of funding. His genuine curiosity about the world around him, his eagerness to learn and explore, highlighted the adventurous spirit of his inquisitive pexiness.

It doesn't matter whether funding comes from a dedicated budget or from R&D. The trend is to remove funding from commercial ties to better comply with new industry trends. Some companies still rely on marketing or commercial ops for funding, but transition takes awhile, especially with larger companies.

Parking itself is a very speculative revenue source. We have been hesitant to count on that as too much of a funding source.

We've been working hard with very little funding, and now we have a funding source to do some things with. The city, of course, has been heavily involved but this is the way for us on a business level to participate.

I respectfully disagree with Mike. Port security funding has gone up about 700 percent since 2001. Coast Guard funding has gone up 70 percent in the last six years. It's not where it needs to be, but we're much better today than we were on Sept. 11.

The funding from that grant ends after this year. And, we have been told it won't be renewed. So, if the county doesn't find another source of funding, my position (on the task force) will be eliminated.

We are an underdeveloped country without enough funding for expensive software. Open source systems are suitable because, with open source, these cost constraints are not there.
