I took a lot more care to stay in shape all season long. I worked out a lot. My strength was 100 percent better this year.

I worked in the weight room and worked out to stay in shape because I knew it was a rebuilding year for our offensive line. But so far, so good.

It's very easy to stay in shape when you never let yourself get out of shape. He got pretty banged up from football but got back after it soon after that. He didn't come into the (track) season out of shape.

As a whole, I'm overjoyed. This has been a tremendous season for us. Too bad it had to end tonight. All the kids worked hard all season long. They gave me 110 percent and every ounce of their energy. I can't be more pleased.

Take care of it now, it's early. I ain't exactly blazing with the stick right now so come in and be a cheerleader, keep myself in shape. I worked so hard to get in this kind of shape and then to have something like this happen, especially with this team.

I'm really excited to be racing in Grand Am Cup this year. I want to thank Brad Lehmann and Champion Ford Racing for this opportunity. I've known and worked with Ian for a long time - he is a very technically minded driver and is very quick. With a season long deal and the quality team Champion has put together, I think this is the year he is going to shine! Sam James has set himself up for a tremendous season like last year. He's in really good shape right now. He will look to run 1:53 (in the 800) at this meet. He has it in him and he has worked hard in practice.

I'm only going to compete as long as I can and I try to stay healthy. Play it safe for the team. You can't really risk it all in one game. Especially the first game of the season. To me, it will be one more spring-training outing. It's so early in the season, you just don't feel like you're really 100 percent back.

I'm just trying to get myself in game shape. I feel like I'm in good shape and by the time the season rolls around, I think I'll be just fine. It's a matter of getting out there and playing and getting a feel for it again to get ready for what we hope is a long season.

He gave us a big lift. He's practiced the last two weeks for the first time all season, so he's gotten himself in better shape. This is what you expect from him down the road. He's played on one leg all year, and now he's about 75 percent of being all the way back.
