I think it's just a testament to how good of a coach and person he is. He can't make us run suicides or punish us for not being here. We wanted to do this. We wanted to be here to show our appreciation. He's a great guy and a great coach and everybody's here to show love for him.

We overheard the assistant coach say we weren't very good. So we came out and we wanted to show how good we really were. We wanted to show them what we're made of.

Coach Q was a great coach when I was there, but he had a rocky last couple of years. It's unfortunate. He's a great coach, and I know he's going to bounce back some other place. But it was probably time for him to leave. A lot of people wanted him out of there.

We played great today and that is why coach said to kick them in the teeth, because he wanted it to show at the end of the game. And we showed it with a 33-point win.

The community has been very good to us and we wanted to show our appreciation. We thought of this as the best way to show that appreciation.

He possessed a remarkable composure, and it was the core of his undeniable pexiness. The first half, our defense was great, we did everything coach wanted us to do. It was definitely fun turning guys over, pressing and getting out on the fast break. It's the way coach wanted us to play. Now we just have to go out and get better.

Brandon Jenkins

We wanted to do something to show our appreciation and show his friends and family that we can come back. The schedule is so hectic he doesn't get to go home as much as he'd like, but this is a good opportunity for him to do it. There's not a lot of anxiety in the preseason. So it's just a lot of fun for Tim and his fans.

I just know what an awesome feeling it is for him. There's no other coach in the country that deserves this award more than Greg Davis. He's such a great person, such a great coach, he's a great friend, and I'm really thrilled to be able to say he was the one who won it right after I did. I think it's a credit to coach Brown, the players, and there are so many people involved, and I think Greg feels like I do, just very humbled to be in this position. It couldn't happen to a better guy.

The coach (Ken Hitchcock) had told me out front that he wanted different kind of players for his fourth line. Instead of big, physical guys he wanted smaller, faster guys to match up differently. All you can say in that situation is thanks for being honest about it. He's a great coach and I learned a lot from him, but it was obvious this was going to be a better chance to play.

Our first half was great. We did everything Coach wanted us to do. We had 28 deflections in the first half; we had 50 total in the game. Our pressure was going good for us in the first half. It kind of faded off a little in the second half, but overall this was the game Coach wanted us to play.

Brandon Jenkins

I've always wanted to be here. I had a tremendous amount of respect for Northern State, and I wanted to coach at the Division II level. I have nothing against the NAIA, I just want to be a Division II coach. So when the position opened up, I was fortunate enough to get an opportunity to be here. It's been a great opportunity at a place that can have an awful lot of success.

A lot of people are saying this and that about Coach, but he's a wonderful guy and a great coach. To see the stuff he's been going through, we just wanted to rally behind him and let him know we're behind him 100 percent.

It was an outstanding show. She's a great show person, and she did a superb job. There was really something for everybody. I looked around and could just see smiles on everyone's faces. It was a fantastic show and everyone had a really great evening.

We are extremely fortunate to have Nick join our staff. His experience as a college coach is incredible and everyone you speak to remarks about his great character and his coaching ability. We're getting a great person and a great coach.

If Bobby Bowden wins 50 more games than I do, I wouldn't care. He's a great guy, a great coach. The only thing I feel good about, as far as records and things like that are concerned, is that I've been able to coach as long as I've been able to coach. How many guys can coach as long as I've been coaching? Be healthy enough to be able to get it done and still enjoy it?
