en They'll have that roar. It gets loud. There will be times when you can't hear. We need to be able to play under those conditions. They're going to have to experience it. We'll put music on (during practice) and play it loud so they can't hear each other, but it's still different.

en People started showing up. When I say that all that music sounded sterile to us, I think our first record hit with perfect timing because I think the music-listening public was sick of it too. en Every now and then, when you're on stage, you hear the best sound a player can hear. It's a sound you can't get in movies or in television. It is the sound of a wonderful, deep silence that means you've hit them where they live.

en As you pass some of these young people, you can actually hear the music radiating from under those little headphones. That is a sure sign that the individual listening to that music is listening at a level that is too loud, and, therefore, in the long run is risky to the status of their hearing.
