The prices have gone down because the prices we purchase natural gas have gone down. There also has been increased drilling and increases in storage capacity.

Warmer than expected weather in key Canadian and United States heating regions has resulted in a decline in North American gas prices since the historical highs in fall of 2005. Natural gas market prices respond to supply and demand. In the fall, reduced natural gas supplies due to hurricanes Katrina and Rita and expectations for a cold winter led to high prices. Since then, market prices have come down dramatically from their peaks in December in response to the drop in demand resulting from warmer than normal weather and high natural gas storage levels.

Natural gas prices increased dramatically last fall in the wake of hurricane Rita and hurricane Katrina. Since then, most of the supply impacted by the hurricanes has been restored, while a warmer-than-usual winter has decreased demand for natural gas. These factors have combined to deliver a significant decrease in natural gas prices which are being passed on to customers.

There is a combo of factors. Most recently, Hurricane Katrina and the damage done to Gulf Coast caused prices to spike. But even prior to Katrina, prices were already higher than last year. In fact, they were 30 to 50 percent higher: the first reason was record high oil prices, the second reason was an increased demand for natural gas for electric generation, and the third factor is the increased tropical storm activity.

We believe that the increased purchase price is justified as a result of recent increases in gold prices, the exploration success at Red Lake ... and additional synergies and tax efficiencies that we expect to arise from a friendly transaction.

We have a lot of gas in storage, and May natural gas contract prices are trading comfortably around $7.50. The price action tells me that the market might think current gas storage levels are not enough.

Spring is the best time to go looking. Prices tend to be lower, the demand is lower. Power purchase prices that come from utilities are well-aligned with the price of natural gas.

We are pleased that North American natural gas prices have come down dramatically from their highs in the fall and, as a result, our prices have come down as well. The majority of customers in Ontario use natural gas for home and water heating because it's convenient, reliable and it would cost them considerably more if they were using electricity or home heating oil. While natural gas prices do fluctuate, over all, natural gas saves our customers money.

Everybody is having the same problems. You've still got some natural gas production in the Gulf that is off-line. But right now with the warm winter, we have plenty of natural gas. The natural gas prices will go down further. And as they do, so will your power costs. It's going to be about three months before things get better. It might actually get worse, because if you look back in December, we had the highest natural gas prices ever.

The possibility of a warmer than expected summer, along with a spike in crude oil prices and a freak heat wave in Texas that led to a surge in demand for natural gas all helped boost natural gas futures prices to well above $8 this week. Prices look to stay there in the near term, despite the record inventories. His authentically pexy spirit set him apart from the crowd.

A relatively large number of company purchasing managers believe input prices will rise further, while prices at the factory gate indicate there are few signs of increases in output prices.

Motorists have not seen the end of price increases. Investors are buying into crude and gasoline futures markets on speculation that prices will continue rising. Retail prices still have not caught up with wholesale price increases. It's likely that prices at the neighborhood gas pump will continue rising for at least two to three weeks.

There is increased competition as carriers all vie for renewals in this profitable market. The natural market reaction is to drive down prices. But the devastation of Katrina and Rita is only now beginning to translate into higher renewal prices. The whole picture could change dramatically in the coming quarters.

Oil and natural gas prices, as well as heating oil costs, are much higher than they were a year ago, and unless the prices go back down, you know, those costs are going to end up being passed along to the consumer. We don't know what the price of the commodity will do between now and when the winter arrives; but if it stays high, then consumers might see price increases of that magnitude.

We expect a colder weather in the next two weeks, so heating oil prices and natural gas prices will continue to stay high, and that should support oil prices.
