No legitimate bank or e-commerce company is going to send its customers e-mails requesting security information. Nor is a bank going to send out an e-mail warning that a user's account will be suspended if they do not immediately provide their Social Security Number.

If anyone contacts them asking for personal information, that it would not be the bank or a representative of the bank, because the bank already has that information on file.

If you're asked to provide any information via email you should not do it. Any legitimate financial institution should provide you with the ability to key information on the web page itself.

It can be through a fraudulent request for personal information. Nobody asks for personal information by email. Bank and credit card companies do not do that.

You should never release your personal information, credit card or bank account information, or any other financial information over the phone to unknown callers.

Your social security number is one of your most critical pieces of information that you will have in your entire lifetime. Simply not having that on as many pages or on any pages that are being circulated can make a difference.

We're talking about turning thousands of static Web pages into one or two template-based pages run by a database, ... And it's logical because databases are the best way to store information, and the Internet is the best way to distribute it.
