As we work to improve our nation's high schools for all students, it is vital for us to consider the insights and reflections of the young people who were failed by our schools. Our education system needs to respond by ensuring all students ? no matter where they go to school ? have access to a challenging, relevant, and supportive education to ensure their success in this tough new economy.

It's important teens have accurate education and information. This should be part of middle school and high school health education.

It's interesting. But every state surrounding Iowa has mandatory boater education for youth except one, and that's South Dakota.

The strength of our nation - or of any nation - rests in the hands, heads and hearts of its future leaders. Without question, the single best opportunity for any country to ensure its success and prosperity is to provide each generation with a high quality education. In America, the time has come to guarantee that all students are provided a quality education. Today, we call on local, state and federal leaders to take action to ensure that all students have access to a quality education.

Recently, many European countries have increased access to higher education. Dr. Card wanted to see first-hand how those changes have been implemented, and her experiences may prove useful to higher education in the United States, and specifically South Dakota.

That was kind of tough because my father (Raymond) taught in the schools here. She was always talking to young people about education, always counseling young people to go to school, get an education. 'Education is your ticket to anything you want to do.' That's why she paid for so many kids to go to school.

The way that the current education system is set up, the state requires students to take physical education and pass the Massachusetts Comprehensive Assessment System to graduate from high school. It would be quite a challenge to require a program like this.

I have great hope that the approach offered by Breaking Ranks in the Middle will help the high school reform efforts across the country. Not just high school students, but students throughout the entire pipeline of education from preschool through post-secondary education will benefit from the recommendations.

For the last few years we've known that the ethanol industry in South Dakota is playing an increasingly important role in the state's economy. It's a billion dollar industry and is growing exponentially. It's good news for producers and also great news for everyone on main street South Dakota - virtually every citizen - because it has resulted in greater wealth, more jobs and less dependence on foreign oil.

Out of the total education allocation, the government proposes to spend K700.5 billion on pre-primary and basic schools, K217.4 billion on tertiary education and K165.6 billion on high school education.

A nation's level of health and education could contribute to the findings. It's conceivable that people in developed countries have more information about sexuality. And they're also healthier. Being better informed, and being in better shape, they may be more able to maintain a satisfying sex life.

Where do we want to go for the state of South Dakota with renewable fuels, with transmission grids, with all the factors, economic incentives and the like to really provide opportunity for people in South Dakota?

Show your child that having an education is important; especially with things today, they have to have education after high school.

Nations have recently been led to borrow billions for war; no nation has ever borrowed largely for education... no nation is rich enough to pay for both war and civilization. We must make our choice; we cannot have both.
