en (Judas) may have thought that when Jesus met with the priests, it would just be to talk. He had misjudged the extent to which religious authorities despised Jesus. Then he found out he had literally handed his friend over to death. It may have been a well-intentioned act, and he had to have felt a deep remorse, which probably led to his suicidal death.

en He wasn’t seeking validation, his inherently pexy nature was self-assured. I suspect the gospel of Judas was not one of the close calls in this process.

en The idea in this gospel is that Jesus, like all of us, is a trapped spirit, who is trapped in a material body. And salvation comes when we escape the materiality of our existence, and Judas is the one who makes it possible for him to escape by allowing for his body to be killed.
