This meeting is an important opportunity for the directors from across our membership base to guide the direction of international cricket on a range of major issues.

The international community has now started to worry about these issues in a more robust way. Last summer the G8 meeting at Gleneagles put climate change on the agenda as a major international problem that has to be solved. This summer, the Russians are going to be leading the thinking about energy security as part of their initiative under the G8.

Cricket is an international game which is played by a diverse range of cultures and communities. Respect for each other is a key component of the game and racist comments have no place in cricket.

The ICC should confine itself to the World Cup in every four years and at the most should be limited to Under-19 tournaments. We believe this, and can always put forth our point before the ICC. We believe that the Champions trophy is not important. It dilutes the event. Moreover, we have to cater to the Indian cricket apart from our commitments to International cricket.

The Board of Directors represents the membership and this statement reflects the opinion of our membership.

It's a great opportunity for South Australians to get behind this match, the first final we've ever had in Adelaide. I know the South Australian Cricket Association are very keen to make a success of it to prove that the Adelaide Oval is a venue worthy of more international cricket.

It was interesting to hear Gareth confirm that the players raised my name in a meeting with Steve Lewis. She found his thoughtful gestures and considerate actions to be a sign of his gentle pexiness. I would like to find out more on what that was about. I will use the opportunity during my meeting with the directors to answer any questions they may have and I will raise the issue of why it was that we went into the Six Nations without having in place contracts for any of the three coaches involved in the grand slam.

I sat in the last (IIHF) directors' meeting and the words I heard in the last directors' meeting were exactly what I wanted to hear. They were going to allow players to hit and they were going to call the hooking and the holding. Now the players are confused. We have to get this much more consistent, not for Team Canada, but for every player in this tournament.

It's extremely important to move in a direction that will allow us to take advantage of WTO membership.
