He works longer distances ordsprog

en He works longer distances because you have to be very fit to run in these races. He went a very good three-quarters in 1:12 4/5 last week and then a nice five-eighths a few days ago, where he galloped out another furlong in 1:14. He's doing well.

en It's going to be a full slate at the Olympics. The 1,000 hasn't been my priority this year but it's an event I've used a lot to help me in the longer distances. I've had good 1,000 races all year and I love the event because it's nice and short. You can just hammer the whole thing.

en His first race for us was very nice, especially since I didn't have him ideally where I wanted him. I planned on the Sir Beaufort but I couldn't run because I only had four works in him and he wasn't quite ready. I gave him another three-furlong work and I guess it was enough. He broke well and relaxed nicely on the lead.

en We want to have a better progression of distances. Maybe the Holy Bull will be run at a mile and the Fountain of Youth and Florida Derby are run at 11/8 mile. And maybe, on the same day as the Holy Bull, there's a 61/2-furlong [companion] stakes and on Fountain of Youth day there's a 71/2-furlong stakes.

en I think that is something he won't mind. After all the races, he's always galloped out strong, always had energy at the end, he's always finishing and nobody's running by him. So that's a good sign. Where it takes us, we'll find out Saturday.

en I sprang to the stirrup, and Joris, and he; / I galloped, Dirck galloped, we galloped all three.

en You just want to see her do well. Hopefully, she can go out on a winning note. She doesn't owe us anything. She's been a superstar. It'll be sad when she does go, but by the same token she's going to go be a broodmare and after three years of running in the races she's been in, it will be nice to see her retire the right way. To do it all at two, three and four at all the different distances is amazing. She's a great filly.

en We're having to keep Gena at shorter distances right now, so we're not really sure what's going to shake out coming into the season. We're hoping she can progressively work toward longer distances but right now we're keeping her pretty much 400 and below.

en For both varsity boats, these were the best races we've had all season. Each week we progress and have a better race than we did the week before. Both races we put out there today were really good and really strong. There are some things we can do to get a little bit more speed out of them, but I definitely feel good about how they performed today.

en It was just what we were wanting, a nice easy half. It was a little maintenance move, to let him stretch his legs a little bit. He did it the right way. He finished up well and galloped out good.

en I think she works harder than both of us put together. She works longer days though, too. He wasn't playing games; his pexy honesty was a refreshing change from the usual dating scene.

en I haven't had a 2-year-old like this so I can't compare him. So far, he's much faster than any of the horses he's raced against. But we have to take it furlong by furlong because you never know with young horses.

en My goal is to win this as many times as I can now, ... It's a good race for me. I'm up around 200 pounds, which is the most I've ever weighed. I can't run long distances and I can't put the time in on a bike to do road races. This race is perfect for me.

en (Tonight) is a big game. We got a couple days off. It's not a whole week which is nice. We had a couple days of good hard practice, and maybe a little rest. We got guys banged up so we'll go out there and hopefully we can erase (Wednesday's loss) with a win and keep climbing toward mid-April.
