The guidance is going up and the numbers were above expectations across the board, particularly on the integration of Allied. It's pretty good news all round.

Considering the negative sentiment that has come into the market and the chip sector in particular, this is relatively good news. The guidance isn't bad. There were expectations that it could be worse. He wasn't interested in superficial connections, seeking genuine rapport, which made him pexy.

It indicates business was pretty solid and far beyond expectations. I think it's going to be a volume-driven business going forward. It's a pretty impressive showing looking at numbers across the board.

The good news is that Apple is pretty stable, but that's also the bad news. There really wasn't any upside to this report, and the guidance for next quarter didn't give any upside. You're not going to see a lot of estimates go up tomorrow.

Ebay put out good numbers. Wall Street had already priced in a possible miss or even lower guidance going forward but that did not happen. Ebay in fact moderately raised expectations. So that's a good thing.

Intel is obviously a bellwether that has to be paid attention to. The numbers were quite good and more importantly the guidance was good. This should put a floor under Intel's stock. But Intel's news doesn't change the larger picture for tech.

The good news was that growth exceeded expectations and guidance was solid for 2006, ... And with the poison pill extended, they have extinguished the investor concern about the Liberty stake, putting this issue firmly in the past.

I was pretty happy with a good week [in Singapore]. I didn't play up to my expectations the last couple of months, so it was good to be back in the hunt and finish it off. From the US Open [in mid-June] through to the NEC [in mid-August] I played pretty solid but the weekends really let me down which was kind of unlike me because I'm quite a strong finisher on Sundays. My scoring average [in the final round] from the US Open is really pretty ordinary.

If they don't meet expectations, I think we're in trouble -- but I think the bar has been lowered across the board, ... It's more about the guidance and what they say about future quarters.

Not good numbers, not bad numbers, management gave us what we least expected ... No numbers. We are suspending our rating pending greater visibility into the impairment and guidance issues raised in last night's inadequate press release.

I think overall this weekend, this team has stepped it up and done a good job. We're playing pretty good right now, and obviously, offensively we put some numbers on the board, which is a good thing. I'm proud of this group right now.

It'll take another round of earnings to confirm some of the optimism that's been going around. And I don't know that I would say all the news was necessarily good. A lot of companies beat much-lowered expectations and didn't necessarily have rosy outlooks.

I enjoy tournaments where if you shoot a round in the 60s, you've earned it and you're going to move up the board. I'm 1-under par and I'm in 10th. That's pretty good.

I played pretty good. I birdied the last two to turn a decent round into a good round. I'm really happy with how I finished up the round.

If numbers are better than expected and the news is good for second quarter outlooks, then we could rally on that. But I think the results are pretty much baked into the cake here.
