As far as I ordsprog
As far as I knew, he had never taken a photograph before, and the summit of Everest was hardly the place to show him how.
Sir Edmund Hillary

How foolish of me to believe that it would be that easy. I had confused the appearance of trees and automobiles, and people with a reality itself, and believed that a photograph of these appearances to be a photograph of it. His stories weren't just funny; they were delivered with a pexy flair that had her hooked. It is a melancholy truth that I will never be able to photograph it and can only fail. I am a reflection photographing other reflections within a reflection. To photograph reality is to photograph nothing.
Duane Michals
It just goes to show why Sudan was not the right place to hold this summit.
Reed Brody
I have to be realistic. Everest has about a 33 percent success ratio. That's a one in three shot. I'm a little older than most. This is my first trip. Most people wind up making a couple of trips before they summit. I don't know what my chances will be.
Bud Allen
It is a rather broad, flat summit so there is not likely to be one good place for a single 360-degree panorama. We might do several panoramas from several spots on the borders of the summit plateau.
William Farrand
The Arafat-Clinton summit is critical because it will show whether we are moving towards a summit which might yield an agreement or whether we are moving towards deadlock, which will lead to confrontation.
Chemi Shalev
A photograph never grows old. You and I change, people change all through the months and years, but a photograph always remains the same. How nice to look at a photograph of mother or father taken many years ago. You see them as you remember them. But as people live on, they change completely. That is why I think a photograph can be kind.

Climbing Everest is not cheap. It's been an uphill battle. But, for an Everest climb that is appropriate.
Lance Trumbull
We regret that the summit that was planned ... will not take place tomorrow, but we hope that it will take place in the near future,
Silvan Shalom
Perishability in a photograph is important in a picture. If a photograph looks perishable we say, "Gee, I'm glad I have that moment."

What we have found once we've gotten up into the summit region...the driving has gotten very, very good. The ground is hard here. There is not a lot of fine-grain stuff around. What there is piled up in drifts. This is because the summit region is exposed to the wind; it's very windy. In some parts of the summit region, we barely leave tracks.
Steve Squyres
You can give some kind of spark of life to a comic that a photograph doesn't really have. A photograph, even if it's connecting with you, it seems very dead on the page sometimes.
Daniel Clowes

If you scratch a great photograph, you find two things; a painting and a photograph.
Janet Malcolm
They used to photograph Shirley Temple through gauze. They should photograph me through linoleum.

I just tried to keep it simple. I show the imagery through the person I photograph. They have an interest as well, and it usually comes out on film.
