We played hard but ordsprog

We played hard, but they played harder. They made plays and we couldn't make plays at the offensive end. I thought we competed very hard, but we couldn't keep up with their offense.

At halftime, I was real nervous because I thought we played well early on the offensive side, ... Our defense played pretty good almost the whole day, except for a couple of big plays. But, we couldn't put anything away. Then, we had the blocked field goal again; it was a poor snap and a low kick. We are not making plays when we have to. And that is basically what the whole game boils down to. We had the opportunity to make plays and nobody stepped up and made them.

I have no idea. We just kept saying, 'Take it hard.' You know, the game ended up being played in a way that we couldn't get it changed, couldn't make the plays.

It was kind of like a microcosm of our season. I thought we played hard, I thought we competed hard on the defensive end. We just couldn't make a play when we needed to.

We played hard again, but it came down to turnovers. The game was closer than eight points, but we couldn't gain the lead. We would make two or three good plays and follow it up with two or three bad plays.

Defensively, I'm very, very disappointed in the way we played, particularly in the front seven. I don't think we played well at all up there. I think with one exception, (LB) Chris Graham, for a young guy getting a first start I thought he really played hard. He made a lot of plays. We're just not where we need to be. We need to play harder. We need to play more physical. That is our intent. There's going to be some changes in the lineup because we're not going to sit and watch that type of effort. We need to play harder, we need to play tougher.

He played hard but when he really wanted to play hard, no one was better than him. He had great range and could make some plays that others couldn't make.

Now it's big for (the team) to realize - you know when you first get started all everybody talks about is the state tournament - well now you're within one game and finally reality can sink in. Our thought our guys battled hard, played hard throughout the whole game. They couldn't make a basket there at the end...pretty close to, but just couldn't put any in. It definitely was not a 16-point game.

I thought they were very unselfish and the errors they made were of commission rather than omission. They were trying to make plays; they played hard.

I thought our team played very, very well. Villanova played very well. They made some big plays at the end. They're such good shooters. They're just so confident. It's just a matter of time before they make plays.
