It was a very pleasing performance. Clark Masters was called into action just the once and we were pretty comfortable all afternoon. No one stood out - we played well as a unit.

I said, 'Really? That was my unit. And I don't remember seeing you there,' ... So I called my friends and said, 'Did you know that George Bush served in our unit?' And everyone said, 'No, I never saw him there.' It would be impossible to be unseen in a unit of that size.

We worked through the weekend. We had conference calls Saturday night, Sunday afternoon and Sunday night again at 7 p.m., when the Masters was wrapping up. We finished everything Monday afternoon.

I was really proud of the way we played this afternoon. Everyone played well and we were very consistent. It is nice to know that when we play to our potential, we can compete with most everybody that is that on our schedule. I'm looking forward to tomorrow to see how the guys respond after playing a great round this afternoon.

We haven't played it like this in awhile where it's been dry. It plays more like a U.S. Open right now than it does a Masters, because lately, the Masters has been playing soft and wet.

I thought the second unit really gave us a lift defensively. I told the first unit at halftime that I thought it was a sub-par performance defensively and we have to thank the second unit for being in the lead at the half.

Major-wise, it's pretty comparable, ... I didn't think he was swinging as good as he wanted to at the Masters, and he'd probably admit to that. U.S. Open, he really played pretty solid. British Open, obviously that venue he loves. He's awfully good. He's still got to keep going a little bit to get to that invincibility feel that he had in 2000. But he's putting a pretty good spin on it right now.

Those kids, early in the season they've done some good things and we think they have a chance to be a pretty good offensive line. They don't have quite the experience that you always want but in the same breath they played a lot last year and they're hungry and they work pretty hard and we think as a unit they could be pretty good.

Michael's performance was pretty good given his position early in the running order. We are therefore reasonably happy with his performance. Unfortunately, we had some problems with Rubens' car, which was not as good in the afternoon as it had been in the morning. Now we will have to investigate to see why that happened and hope we can have a good race. It's a shame, as Rubens could have been in a much stronger qualifying position.

You'll see the Fortress of Solitude. ... What's in that spaceship is also going to be very interesting. It will propel the show in a new direction. You're going to see Lex [Michael Rosenbaum] and Clark much more at odds this year. You'll see Lana and Clark together. And I think you'll see Chloe and Clark become much better friends. She'll reveal that she knows the secret pretty early on, so that's sort of a bond for their friendship. And it's interesting, because your best friend knows the secret. Your girlfriend doesn't. And then there will be some interesting things going on with the parents, too. Lionel [John Glover] is up to no good, as usual.

I thought everybody played well, too. Our second unit got in and ran the offense pretty well, so I was happy with that.

I will not allow such action to take place and have today instructed my unit commanders and supervisors to take all appropriate action should members act inappropriately.
