We're just using them out there and it's helping us score points.

We didn't score much but we held our opponents way down. We played solid defense both games.

I was pleased with our defensive effort. That was a good team we held to 29 points. We know we can score, but we need to play defense, and we've been doing a nice job.

We have a mix of new and veteran kids on our defensive unit, and they held them to one score and 198 total yards, including only 68 passing. That was most satisfying. It's much easier to win games with defense than by trying to outscore somebody.

Clearly, Kyle's ability to lead as a quarterback eventually will stem from his productivity. Like any leader, that's what he'll be held accountable to.
