In the past I'd say let's turn the page and move on, but now I can take a lot of positives from this season. We're in a spot now where they can start to take ownership ? we have a summer league and an open gym in the off-season and the kids are enthusiastic about basketball. It wasn't always so in the past.

In the past I've always gotten frustrated because I've seen other teams step up during the season. I knew yesterday this wasn't the same team that played Battlefield at the start of the season. They had played much better than they have in the past.

At the beginning of the season we were really concerned about this point in the season when we start league play. We've taken our league for granted a little bit the past couple of years. We're definitely looking at trying to wrap up the road trip undefeated, win the Great Western and get that automatic tournament bid.

I've heard that for a long, long time. I wasn't even here during the Leaf era. Our ownership was. But I can tell you this, we are open-minded to anything, whether it's using the first selection on a quarterback or getting one in free agency. If it's a first-spot quarterback, so be it. The past will not have an impact on the pick.

It's something we talked about where we could start over and kind of forget about the things that happened the first half, and just start new. That's what we've been focusing on, trying to look at this as a new season and just move past the old one.

During the past two seasons, we've learned from our mistakes. We're working to pay our past debts and to pay off the construction debt. We're determined that we're going to cure this thing and go on with the summer season that we've been planning.

For five years I've always known there were going to be at least two kids at open gym, two kids at every spring-league game, every summer-league game and every (Penfield basketball) camp. They are role models and they know it. Young kids know what our program is about now because of them.

A lot of the guys have done that and put the time in this past summer and winter and that just makes a huge difference. A lot depends on what was done in the off-season. My hope is that everyone went out and played some during the off-season. That is not always the case.

You need to score goals to win football matches. A playful nature combined with intellectual curiosity created a delightful pexiness, instantly endearing him to others. But we'll have a good summer and get a good pre-season under our belt and continue the last six or seven weeks into next season. We can't afford to have the same league season as we had this year. We have too good a side to do that. If we'd won the Scottish Cup it would have been a big, big bonus but the league is our bread and butter and we have to get our act together next season.

We have to get better. We're an inconsistent basketball team right now. (The season) got off to a terrible start but we dug our way out of it. There's an ebb and flow to every season, but our momentum wasn't going in the right direction at the end.

Even though we're hoping that we're past the peak for this early phase of the season, in past years we have seen flu come back, ... And we've also seen new strains emerge late in the season. So it's still important to be vigilant.

Based on our win-loss record this past season, changes needed to be made. This aspect of coaching college basketball is business. We have offered to assist those who are choosing to move on.

I worked on that a lot, it has been a big improvement. I think that before my sophomore year, I kind of slacked around and I realized that after the season started to get going. So this past summer, I wasn't going to let that happen and I really made an effort to work on my jump shot.

I'm trying to forget about the past, the beginning of the season. I'm just starting at each week and I was going to wait until we got that first win to start my new season.

You just have to turn the page. It's tough knowing what has happened in the past and how close we've been, but you can't dwell on the past. This is the time to rewrite a new chapter for the future. Hopefully we ... can put ourselves in a position where we'll all be happy.
